Transparent Acrylic Sheet synthesized by the polymerization of acrylic acid and its esters. The corresponding plastics are generally called polyacrylic acid plastics. Process characteristicsof Transparent Acrylic Sheet

1. Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) contains polar side methyl and has obvious hygroscopicity. Its water absorption is generally 0.3%-0.4%. It must be dried before moulding. The drying condition is to dry for 4-5 hours at 80-85 degrees centigrade. Transparent Acrylic Sheet

2. Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) has an effective non-Newtonian fluid property in the temperature range of moulding. The melt viscosity decreases with the increase of shear rate, and the melt viscosity is also sensitive to the change of temperature. Therefore, Transparent Acrylic Sheet for the processing of polymethyl methacrylate, increasing the forming pressure and temperature can significantly reduce the melt viscosity and obtain better fluidity.

3. The temperature at which polymethyl methacrylate begins to flow is about 160 C, and the temperature at which polymethyl methacrylate begins to decompose is higher than 270 C. It has a wide processing temperature range.

4. Transparent Acrylic Sheet has high melt viscosity, fast cooling rate and easy to produce internal stress. Therefore, strict control of process conditions is required during the forming process, and post-processing is also needed after the forming process.

5. Transparent Acrylic Sheet is an amorphous polymer. Its shrinkage rate and its variation range are small, generally about 0.5%-0.8%, which is conducive to forming plastic parts with high dimensional accuracy.

Bonding Methods of Transparent Acrylic Sheet:

1. Docking: Place two pieces of organic glass plates to be butted horizontally on the operating platform, close them, and glue a tape at the bottom, leaving a gap not more than 0.3 mm wide for the application of adhesive. Use syringe to inject the adhesive evenly and slowly from one side into the crevice until it is fully filled. Remove the tape after curing completely.

2. Vertical bonding: Vertical bonding is the most widely used bonding technology, which is widely used in the production of various kinds of plexiglass IT electronic digital display shelf products. First, the surface to be bonded should be wiped clean. It is better to use die to achieve bonding, so that the bonding material does not shake, which is conducive to improving the quality of bonding. The organic glass plate with thickness of 3 mm can be bonded with fine metal wires, which can be bonded by capillary action. The metal wires can be extracted before the bonding agent solidifies, or bonded with adhesive tape and then coated with adhesive.

3. Inclined surface bonding: The bonded inclined surface must use 90 degree angle and so on to prevent the displacement of the bonded surface. The application of adhesives should be uniform and slow. The backing die can not be removed until it is completely cured.

4.Surface bonding: Planar bonding is a special bonding method. First of all, the adhesive surface will be wiped clean, and placed horizontally, with a proper amount of adhesive on it. Place one side of another PMMA board obliquely in contact with the coated PMMA board, then drop it evenly and slowly, and drive out the bubbles from one side to finish the bonding. PMMA adhesive can erode the surface of PMMA board and leave traces that are difficult to eliminate. Therefore, it can be used to protect the non-adhesive parts by sticking adhesive tape. Oil, dust or stomata can hinder the uniform coating of adhesives and leave bubbles. Excessive use of a small amount of adhesives will bring air into the adhesive when it receives shrinkage.

The Transparent Acrylic Sheet is made of granular material, which is dissolved at high temperature and extruded. The cast sheet is directly cast with MMA monomer (liquid). Although the extruded sheet is smooth and smooth in shape, it can be polymerized when the granular material is formed.
