ACR processing aids can promote the melting of PVC, improve the surface finish, improve the elasticity of the melt, and enhance the elongation and strength of the melt. The molecular weight and dosage of foaming regulator have a great influence on the density of foaming tablets: with the increase of molecular weight, the strength of PVC melt increases, and the density of foaming tablets can be lower, which has the same effect as increasing the dosage of regulator. However, this effect has no linear relationship. Continuing to increase molecular weight or dosage will not have a very obvious effect on reducing density, and the density will tend to be constant.
There is an important relationship between foaming regulator and foaming agent. There is a balance point between the density of foaming tablet and foaming regulator. Besides this balance point, the density of foaming tablet is not affected by the content of foaming agent and keeps constant. That is to say, increasing the dosage of foaming agent can not reduce the density. The reason for this phenomenon is that the melt strength of PVC is at a certain dosage of foaming regulator. Limited, excessive gas leads to bubble collapse or coalescence.
